Guild of Guardians pre-alpha goes live
The Guild of Guardians pre-alpha demo went live last week, as did the pre-alpha leaderboard where players can check their rewards. The team shared some stats after the first 24 hours, with 28,628 dungeons crawled and 1,132,547 mobs killed. Here’s also a good hero guide to help players create a balanced squad.
The alpha features two worlds, Magma and Crypt, with 12 dungeons in each. Each dungeon costs 10 energy (players start with 240) and player energy resets daily. Full list of features below.

Weekly update from Decentral Games
Weekly updates from Decentral Games are a must read. According to the latest update, DAUs are up to an all-time high of 11,709 with concurrent players consistently between 1,500 and 1,700. The mobile beta is getting close, and should be ready for testing in the next 1-2 weeks. The recent ICE Cyberpunk drop removed 34,256,000 ICE from circulation, with mint-to-burn ration for ICE at a healthy 0.75.
Bloomberg also ran an article on Decentral Games last week, which doesn’t hurt!

Sky Mavis on Community Treasury & Progressive Decentralisation
Sky Mavis, the gaming studio behind Axie Infinity and Ronin, published their thoughts on governance and control over the community Treasury. Measured against the early versions of the whitepaper and even the original AXS design deck by Delphi, decentralisation of governance and the Treasure has been significantly behind schedule. Same can be said about AXS token emissions, circulating supply, player rewards, etc.
The team at Sky Mavis is taking a very conservative, no-risk approach here, which might rub some the wrong way. The post lays out the road to decentralisation and sets some specific (and rather ambitious) targets. In order to move to the next level on their decentralisation roadmap, Sky Mavis wants to see:
An Axie game that has over 10 million DAU and average weekly growth rates of 5% for 6 consecutive months or 8 months out of 12 over a 12 month period.
At least 3 outside teams are building games with over 100,000 DAU on top of Axie Infinity outside of the core Sky Mavis team.
If these criteria are not met by the end of 2023, the team will reassess.
