Crypto Gaming Roundup #12
MetaPortal Gaming Index, $GAME, is designed to provide exposure to the emergent crypto gaming space. Investing across games, virtual worlds and gaming platforms. The index is a simple and effective way to express the view that crypto games will capture a greater share of the burgeoning gaming market.
State of Aurory
The theme of Aurory’s latest update centred on the various parts of the early access demo starting to come together.
The design team has been working on the design of the tutorials as well as sharpening the UI/UX. In the link above you’ll also notice a number of the latest designs from their art team, who’ve teased Neftie cards and 3D character models for the game.
Lastly, the Web3 department deployed an internal version of ‘Aurorians on Expedition’ (NFT staking) along with a marketplace on AuroryNet, the internal testing network. While these items are still work-in-progress, the team is hoping to release them to the public sometime in mid-April.
Ember Sword pre-alpha
Both land owners and badge holders have been invited to the Ember Sword pre-alpha. This phase of testing is by no means a full game experience, and is instead focused on specific gameplay loops, primarily to ‘examine various systems (such as online connectivity), see if there are any large scale bugs, gauge the need for further optimization’. The team will use the three rounds of testing to explore game mechanics and gather data, with access to the alpha taking place throughout April.
Play-to-earn online published a short review of the pre-alpha, you can view it here:
Everseed roadmap
Everseed announced their upcoming genesis NFT sale as part of a wider ‘22/23 roadmap.
The NFT launch starts April 20th, when allow-listed community members will have the opportunity to mint an Everseed Genesis NFT that will unlock in three phases:
4/20: Elixir Purchase (5,000 at 1 $SOL each)
4/22: Avatar Creator (site goes live allowing customisation of avatars)
4/25: Avatar Birth (NFTs redeemable by those who hold Elixir and submitted an avatar)
Next up will be the release of game loop testing (similar to Ember Sword above) which for Everseed is called ‘Vertical Slice’, with a closed alpha planned for Q1 2023.
DomiOnline March development update
DomiOnline, the MMPORG built by a former Runescape dev, shared an update this week.
They’ve rolled out a number of changes, but in a nutshell:
Skin enchantment prototype deployment
Mainland terrain completion
Further improvement on character customization
Additional enemy types
Basic combat loop completed
Environmental weather parameters
Cyball stats
Updates from Cyball came in the form of important numbers this week, as they announced >53,000 sign-ups as well as 13,000 daily active users, having launched only a month ago. They also made mention of having over 50 guilds involved in the game, which suggests a healthy appetite for the play-to-earn aspect.
The team aren’t stopping there though, with the launch of Cyball Reborn due in mid-May, and bringing a raft of new features to players. Perhaps most notable of these, the game will be coming to both iOS and macOS!
DeVerse on Polygon
Gaming ecosystem DeHorizon announced their upcoming deployment to Polygon with DeVerse. In fact, at the time of writing the second round of DeVerse testing has just gone live:
Players can log in to claim rewards, potentially share in prizes of up to $3m worth of $DVT and further participate in refer-to-earn the opportunity to earn even more tokens.
