Crypto Gaming Roundup #15
MetaPortal Gaming Index, $GAME, is designed to provide exposure to the emergent crypto gaming space. Investing across games, virtual worlds and gaming platforms. The index is a simple and effective way to express the view that crypto games will capture a greater share of the burgeoning gaming market.
Axie land staking
The team released an overview of Land Staking this week, including details about the 337,500 AXS per month allocated towards the initiative. This isn’t just the usual vanilla reward program however, with proof of engagement and gameplay as added requirements for the claiming of tokens. This is part of a wider push from Sky Mavis that includes evidence of activities as a requirement for Origin, Land, and AXS reward claiming. The plan is that future experiences will evolve toward requiring evidence of participation, better aligning incentives across the ecosystem as a whole. This will even go so far as to influence governance, as the team states they want ‘those who contribute to be rewarded and have influence over future Community Treasury decisions’.
Now that the world is getting back to normal, Axie meetups in real life are becoming more common. The team announced Community Meetup Grants to support global events for the Axie community, known for being one of the strongest and most welcoming of all crypto projects.
Illuvium land sale
On the subject of in-game land, Illuvium announced a date for their sale to commence, the 2nd of June at 09:00 UTC.
Interesting points to note:
Prices start at 2 ETH.
There will be a total supply of 20,000 plots across seven unique regions.
Approximately 5% of all in-game revenues go to landholders.
It will be a Dutch Auction to avoid a gas war (including a system that reduces the ability of two parties to bid on the same plot, minimizing the number of failed transactions).

VulcanForged follow up
We covered the VulcanVerse a few weeks ago. They since announced a partnership with DystoWorld, released their latest roadmap and deployed the Binance and Bifinity fiat on-ramps that allow Forge users to buy $PYR directly.
Oh and another small note, VulcanVerse now has more active players than Decentraland and Sandbox combined according to dAPPRadar!
REVV racing at Hockenheim
After signing an exclusive licensing deal with the infamous Hockenheimring race circuit, the historic venue will be a part of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem.
Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase segments of the circuit as NFTs, which will then enable them to earn passive income from the revenue generated at the track.
Decentraland security report
Slightly different to our usual coverage, let’s take a quick look at what happened to Decentraland and their postmortem of a recent vulnerability:
On March 12, a security researcher reported a critical vulnerability of the LAND smart contracts that allowed anyone to transfer LAND without a LAND owner’s permission. In response, the Decentraland Foundation urgently contacted the members of the DAO’s Security Advisory Board to amend the smart contracts, and the vulnerability was fixed within two hours of it being confirmed. The team have released a full vulnerability report detailing this incident and what the Decentraland Foundation is doing to protect Decentraland's IP.
