Crypto Gaming Roundup #16
MetaPortal Gaming Index, $GAME, is designed to provide exposure to the emergent crypto gaming space. Investing across games, virtual worlds and gaming platforms. The index is a simple and effective way to express the view that crypto games will capture a greater share of the burgeoning gaming market.
Decentral Games remains all-in
DG has come out swinging recently, with co-founder Miles taking to Twitter on the subject of bear market survival and the new sit-n-go (SNG) poker mode.
SNG is a high stakes, faster pace version of DG’s ICE Poker. It adds another sink for ICE token and will allow a faster path to ownership for skilled players. The team mentioned that guild leaderboards and leagues are also coming, with the native marketplace for DG items still in development (to avoid losses via Opensea fees). You can read more about all the latest in the DG newsletter. It’s clear the team are still delivering at a significant rate, and they aren’t afraid to let people know about it!
Vulcan Forged and the Elysium blockchain
The VulcanVerse has been getting a lot of mentions in our gaming roundup recently, but it’s only fair for a project that keeps marching forward with new releases and updates. This week, the team teased the block explorer for their native blockchain - Elysium.
And while a new Vulcan Verse update is available that integrates $Lava for material trading, perhaps the most exciting announcement concerns the forthcoming achievement section on the Forge dashboard.
Would be kinda cool to see these issued as NFTs on Elysium…
App Store Ready
Ready Games entered the news cycle this past week, having raised $3 million in a sale of its $AURA tokens. Bitkraft led the round, having previously invested in Ready during 2019.
The Ready Games team are trying to create a new ecosystem that democratises access to web 3 game development. To achieve that, they are launching developer tools and the $AURA token, that can be used across a number of games and companies. They also achieve compliance on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, making it easy for web2 companies to make the leap to web3 using Ready’s tooling.
COO Christina Macedo summed it up nicely:
The app store for both Google and Apple have two rules that actually really matter for [developers] to be in compliance and they actually don’t have anything to do with the blockchain…. we work within frameworks that matter. And if you do that, you can go on chain. And that’s how you stay in compliance.’
Cometh joins the gDEX ecosystem
Cometh will be one of the earliest games to join the gDEX Metaverse, leveraging gDEX’s capabilities to enable interoperability. Asset interoperability comes via gDEX’s Prism NFT standards which will allow for the use of assets between different games and platforms. Cometh will also take full advantage of gDEX’s Metaverse Passport and Metahub features to enrich the gaming experience of their players. Here, gDEX tracks in-game progress and asset ownership, making the data accessible between games via their social hub.
